ModPlayer resembles music players like SoundJam MP but is for mod (modules) files only.
Originally created as digital music modules for the Amiga, mod files playback is more lightweight than regular mp3 files and usually allows you to listen to music while still doing something in the foreground. For example, S7T admin Bolkonskij likes to listen to mod files while browsing Gopher on his 68030@40 Mhz Macintosh IIci.
Mod Player supports the following formats: MOD, MADx, OKTA, MED, MTM, S3M, XM, IT and 669.
A good source for finding mod files to listen to is (among others) the mod section on the Aminet website
