Adobe Acrobat was the first software to support Adobe Systems' Portable Document Format (PDF). It is mostly described in those entries. The Acrobat Reader program (now just called Adobe Reader) is available as a no-charge download, and allows the viewing and printing of PDF files.
Acrobat Reader 4.0.5a for System 7 includes the reader application, as well as a web browser plug-in, so you can view PDF files directly in your web browser (such as Internet Explorer 5).
